If you want FREEDOM from eyeglasses and contact lenses but are NOT a candidate for LASIK, consider an implant that functions as a permanent contact lens.
Imagine being free from thick, heavy eyeglasses and the hassle and expense of contact lenses!
Implantable contact lenses, like Verisyse™ and Visian®, are FDA-approved to correct moderate to severe nearsightedness.
Implantable contact lenses are:
The design of the Verisyse lens provides proven precision and predictable results. The lens, made out of PMMA, is implanted behind the cornea. PMAA has a long track record of safety over the 50 years it has been used in replacement lenses implanted during cataract surgery.
Verisyse is implanted behind the cornea and in front of the eye’s pupil. Once in place, a Verisyse lens cannot be felt or seen, and, unlike a contact lens, it cannot slip or fall out of place.
During FDA clinical trials, more than 90% of patients were so satisfied with the Verisyse procedure that they would recommend it to a friend.
Visian, an advanced-technology implantable contact lens, is made of collamer. Collamer, a highly biocompatible lens material that transmits light and reduces reflections that can interfere with vision, contains collagen, a natural protein also found in bone, muscle and connective tissue.
A Visian lens cannot dry out of get dirty like a traditional contact lens. It remains in the eye, invisible to you and observers. It requires no maintenance, other than an annual visit to your eye doctor for a routine check-up.
Good vision is not a luxury…it’s a necessity. Call Carolina Eyecare Physicians to learn more about implantable contact lenses.
